Weather conditions:

Sea level increased significantly during northern winds in late July and mid August which resulted to flooding of waterfowl feeding areas. Snow layer 10-15 sm thick was formed after snowstorm on 14-15 August and melted three days later.

BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

low

Breeding conditions:

Snowy Owls were not recorded. Arctic Foxes bred on the island and we saw juveniule animals on the coast. Rodent remains were not found near inhabited den of Arctic Foxes.
 

Rodent dynamics:

Rodent abundance was low second year in a row, and they were not seen on the island.
